Mr. Alden Thomas Jr., age 43, of Montgomery passed away June 25, 2011. The family will receive friends at Leak Memory Chapel Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 am with Pastor William Ray Carrey III officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Alden served his country on active duty in the Army in 1987-1988. He was a fun loving, carefree guy who loved his family. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He missed his calling as a comedian. He is survived by his parents, Alden Thomas, Sr. and Cherry Thomas; sister, Betsy Thomas; niece, Emily Alden Thomas; loving friend, Mickie Purnell, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Kyle Darnell, Dean Guthrie, Danny Guthrie, Joey Thomas, Tim Thomas and Dusty Free. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Duck and Eddie Cox.

to alden's family,my deepest heartfelt sympathy.alden and i went through basic training together and were stationed at ft benning together. i'll never forget him.he always made us laugh. he was truly a great man. i am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. god bless all of his family and friends.

I met Alden during his frequent stops at Starbucks on Vaughn Rd. He always had positive words to motivate me into becoming a stronger person...I hate I could not have done the same in return...U will always be missed but I know you are in a better place...
