Alice M. Roy Norman Gaylard

Gaylard, Alice Norman Roy Gaylard., age 93, a resident of Woodley Manor Nursing Home, Montgomery, AL for 15 years, went home to be with Jesus on January 8, 2012. She was born May 5, 1918 in Ramer, Al. Mrs. Gaylard was a member of the Montgomery First Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Hiram and Sally Colleen Norman; sisters, Janie Ruth Sealy, Lois Pearl Lewis and Mary Willie English; brothers, A.D. Norman, Seibel Norman, Peavy Norman, Jessie Norman, John Albert Norman and Robert Charlie Norman and her husbands, Marvin Jessie Roy and James Wesley Gaylard. She is survived by daughter and primary caregiver, Cheri Roy of Montgomery, AL; and daughter, Patsy (Tommy) Gunn of Millbrook, AL; sons, Norman (Sandra) Roy of Tuscaloosa, AL and Harold (Carol) Roy of Montgomery, AL; sister, Louise Reagan of Montgomery, AL; brother, Jim Norman of Ramer, AL; seven grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren; a devoted caregiver, Rebecca Harris of Montgomery, AL. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Montgomery Chapter 180, and a member of the Order of the Amaranth. Pallbearers will be Gene Roy, Wesley Roy, Tommy Gunn Jr., T.J. Gunn, Ethan Gunn and David Collister. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Hickman, Keith Collister, Greg Roy and Bryan Martin. She was truly a loving presence in the lives of all who knew her and will be greatly missed and long re-membered by all. God saw she was getting tired, a cure was not to be; so He put His arms around her and whispered, “Come with me.” Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday, January 10th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11th at 11:00 am from the chapel of Leak Memory Funeral Home with Pastor Richie Halverson officiating.
