Alice Sinclair Washington Jones, of Carillon Beach, Florida died November 24, 2018. She was 95 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Julian Harris Jones and brother, Joseph Cassidy Washington, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Julian Harris Jones, Jr., Richard Austin Jones (Anne), and Robert Sinclair Jones (Ginger); grandchildren, Anne Austin Reeves (Steve), Wylie Jones, Steve Jones (Jill), Richard Jones (Alisa) and Ben Jones; great grandchildren, Elle Reeves, Anne Wesley Jones, Evie Jones, Hank Jones and Wils Jones; niece Ellen Risner (Lin) and nephew Joe Washington (Ellen). Mrs. Jones was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1923.
She studied Journalism at The University of Alabama. She was a member and lifetime volunteer of Chi Omega Sorority and also a member and longtime Sunday School teacher at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. She worked at her husband and son’s dental office for many years and also worked at Rosemont Garden Gift Shop. She enjoyed volunteer work in many areas around her community. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was dearly loved by all her family.
A graveside service for Mrs. Jones will be held December 1, 2018 at 10 AM at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Jones will be Steve Jones, Richard Jones, Ben Jones, Wylie Jones, Steve Reeves and Joe Washington. Donations can be made to one’s favorite charity.
