Alice was such a sweet person. We always enjoyed her being with us on her visits to Albany. My prayers go out to all of you who were loved by her.. She was indeed special.

As my brother and cousins have said below, Alice was such a joyful spirit. She was truly family, and cared for each of us as if we were her own grandchildren. I remember playing in Alice's back yard and sneaking into her green house out back. She always came and rescued me from Breaux and Richman when they were terrorizing me while playing in her back yard. Rest in Peace Alice and take care of papa. We love you and will miss you very much.

Thoughts and prayers are with Grace and the rest of the family.  We loved Alice and she will be sorely missed.  She was much more than a neighbor to Mimi and Papa and all of our family -she was a wonderful friend, second mother, and second grandmother!!  Rest in peace Alice!  We  love you and will miss you.

Miss Alice was a true joy and a blessing to the entire Gardner family for over 50 years who remained a trusted and faithful friend to Alice Gardner and her family until the end. She had a such a sweet spirit that thinking of her passing brings forth both sadness and joy. Dear Family and Friends, 
We sure loved Alice like a second grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She had such a kind spirit and way about her. She was a pleasure to be around. She was such a great friend to Mimi and to us all.  I know my grandfather will be excited to have a close friend up in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

Alice will be greatly missed.  She was a wonderful part of our family even though we weren't related.  As Mimi's neighbor and best friend, she was like another grandmother to all of us who would come and visit from Louisiana, Georgia and Birmingham.  Alice had such a wonderful, positive spirit about her.  She had such a great sense of humor and kept us all laughing.  It's sad to think of visiting Sweetbriar Ave and her not being there to welcome us and to brighten our day.  I am happy for her that she is in a better place now, and I have no doubt that she has brought an extra dose of joy with her.

My heart is very heavy as I write this note about our dear sweet Alice-we all loved her dearly. We are truly grateful to have had her in our lives for so many years right next door. As Jane mentioned, she was a second mother to Jane, Buddy and I for all these years. We thank God for Alice and will cherish her love, devotion and tremendous positive impact on our lives forever!! Such a great lady, mother and friend to all. I too will miss hugging her and seeing that sweet smile when we are home to visit mother. I love you Alice

On February 14th we lost my Mother's very best friend for life and our second Mother. How blessed our lives have been to live next door to Alice from our elementary school years until now. I believe it was predestined and I thank God everyday for giving us this special blessing.  What a joy and a privilege to be able to walk next door every day and spend valuable time with her . We were so blessed!! We have cried together, laughed together and celebrated weddings and the birth of our babies together. She was just An integral part of our family! Alice was the essence of love, kindness, compassion and unselfishness. What a great loving sweet spirited lady! It will be such a void when we come home and not see Alice greeting us with that sweet smile and hug! My heart aches! I love you and will always cherish those sweet memories!!
