

Amanda Jo Russell (nee Godfrey) aged 75, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024. Beloved by her family and friends, Mandy will be remembered for her beauty, sharp wit, sense of humor, kindness, and compassion.
Born on March 21, 1949, in Muscatine, IA, to Eunice and Virgil Godfrey, Mandy was the second of three children and grew up primarily in Kansas and Germany. In 1970 she graduated nursing school with her RN and was married to Dr. Stephen Paul Russell. Mandy and Stephen had two daughters, Heather and Amy.
Mandy was a great lover of the arts, especially music. She played piano and guitar and sang often while her girls were growing up, imparting to them an appreciation for music that has left a lasting impression. Mandy also enjoyed watching period dramas with her daughters, spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, and reading.
Mandy is survived by two daughters, Heather E. Golfos, and Amy L. Price (Trey), her grandchildren, Kaitlyn B. Stewart, Emma Z. Golfos, and Bobby S. Price, one great grandson, William Kade Stewart, her brother, Dr. John “Topher” Godfrey (Ann), sister in law, Dr. Susan M. Russell, nieces, and nephews, Sam (Teresa), Anne, Jennifer (Trent), Michelle (Matt), and Bryon, and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eunice M. Godfrey and Virgil D. Godfrey, her former husband, Dr. Stephen P. Russell, and her sister Mary A. Zitterich (Dale Eugene).
A memorial service with interment of ashes at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter will be announced later.
