Burton, Andrew Jackson of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on June 13, 2018 at the age of 88. Andrew Jackson, better known as Jack, lived a good, long life full of love, adventure, and hard work. He was born in Lubeck, West Virginia in 1929. At age 18, he entered the military and served for 26 years in the Navy, Army, and Air Force, before retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. A true innovator and entrepreneur, he created The Bulletin Board, a local publication that is still in circulation today. He enjoyed working hard and playing hard. He was happiest at Lake Martin with his Family and dog (Lizzie), going on boat rides, riding jet skis, cooking out, or simply mowing the grass. He was one of a kind, the last of the Greatest Generation, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ora Iris Burton; father, William Arlington Burton; siblings, Richard Burton, Ronald Burton, Hazel Ann Burton, and Gene Sterling Burton; son, Kent Burton; daughter, Mandy Burton; and his wife, Shirley Burton. Jack is survived by his daughters, Melinda (Carel) Ligeon and Molly (Scott) Killman; grandchildren, Andrew Hyche, Hadley (Michael) Negaard, Cannon Hyche, Jackson Burton-Elahiyan, Mary Burton-Elahiyan, Gray Killman, and Davis Killman; and son-in-law; Bruce Elahiyan. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 at Leak Memory Chapel, with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00p.m. Pallbearers to include: Scott Killman, Bruce Elahiyan, Carel Ligeon, Andrew Hyche, Cannon Hyche, and Davis Killman.
