Annie Sykes Adams a lifelong resident of Montgomery, passed away on June 17. Annie served as the Legal Secretary for the Dairy Commission and received an award of Honorary Admiral from Gov. Bob Riley. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, Red Hat Society, Fun Time Band and National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary Alabama. Ann enjoyed giving tours of Historic Alabama Montgomery for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Mitchell Bridges and Eugenia Howe Bridges; first husband Robert Sheldon Sykes Sr. and late husband James D. Adams; son Richard Daniel Sykes; sister Eugenia Bridges Sachar; Brother William Mitchell Bridges II; She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter Bridgette (Ray) Forrester; son Robert Sheldon (Judy) Sykes; grandchildren Rikki Sykes, Jullie Ann Applewhite(Richard), Jason Sykes, Lacy Sykes, Crystal Sykes ( Eric), Tammy Sumerall ( Wayne), Rick Sykes. Great grandchildren Jacob Sykes, Hunter Wolfe ( Nikki), Ethan Sykes, Lyndi Murphree ( Cameron), Brenna Kennedy, Sebastian Wolfe, Ryan Sykes Ashlynn Selman, Landenn Summerall,Aubury Brooks, Taylor Alford, Addison Alford. Great great grandchildren Piper T. Sykes, Hazel Murphee, Colton Wolfe, Lola Wolfe.

Anne was loved by many, lost by none as she will walk beside us everyday and will forever be in our hearts.
A family and friends visitation for Annie will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 9:00 AM at Leak Memory, followed by a Celebration of Life chapel service at 10:00 AM.
