Jack was born in Sidon, MS, and died in Fort Worth, TX, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Bullock Vallance of Montgomery, his parents, Alice Hope Hatch Wood and Charles Easterling Vallance; his sister, Margaret Jeanette Amelung of Greenwood, MS, and his brother Chad Yates Vallance of Denver, CO. Jack is survived by his sons; Charles Atwood Vallance (Marianne) of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; Asa James Vallance Jr. (Jennie) of Fort Worth, TX; granddaughters Susan Schuh (Scott) of Nassau Bay, TX and Catherine Vallance of Reno, NV; grandson Benjamin Vallance of Fort Worth, TX: and great granddaughter Wilhelmina Grace Schuh of Nassau Bay, TX; sister in law Flo Vallance, niece Alice Ann Amelung Doiron and nephews Eddie Amelung and Jim and Carl Vallance.
He met his bride while an aviation cadet at Maxwell AFB and lived most of his life in Montgomery. He was an active member of The First United Methodist Church, where he and Nancy were married. Since Nancy's death in 2007, he has resided in Fort Worth, TX, where he attended Alliance United Methodist Church and most recently, The First Baptist Church of Keller. He was a salesman for Panther Chemical Co. for many years and enjoyed talking with old friends when he moved to Texas. Jack read the Star Telegram daily and enjoyed attending his grandson's performances at The Cottage Theater. Having trained on B25's at Carswell AFB during WWII, Jack was excited to take a flight on the B25, Pacific Prowler, at age 88.

Burial will be at 10:00 AM on December 28th, 2012, at Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral service at The First United Methodist Church at 11:00. Visitation in Fellowship Hall immediately following the Service.
