Barbara was born in Pensacola, Florida, on August 26, 1955, to Eunice Singletary Petrich and Louis Frank Petrich, Sr. Barbara and her family were avid water enthusiasts, and her youth was spent enjoying the beaches of the Emerald Coast and water skiing at the family home on Soldiers Creek in Lillian, Alabama. Her and her husband, Dwight, later settled onto Tawassee Creek, just off of the Alabama River, in Lowndesboro, Alabama.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Coker; her parents, Eunice and Louis Petrich, Sr.; and her brother, Louis Petrich, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Sabel (Sean) and Emma Coker; her granddaughters, Sadie Mae Sabel and Kenzie Sabel; her sister, Patricia Cazenavette; her stepmother, Merline Petrich; her stepdaughter, Darlene Coker; her stepson, Eddie Coker; her nieces, Valerie Glover (Brian) and Molly Richard-Cazenavette (Candace); her nephews, Joey Cazenavette (Tiffany), Bryan Cazenavette (Jessica), and Jacob Cazenavette (Lyssa); and various cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and step grandchildren.
Barbara will be missed dearly by those who loved her, and especially by her special furry companion, her grandcat, Zoe.
The service will be at Leak-Memory on July 19. The family will receive guests from 10-11am, with the service immediately following.
Barbara wanted those closest to her to join in celebration at the end of her memorial service. The family invites you to dance with them to “Dancing on the Ceiling” by Lionel Richie.
The family asks that donations be made to your charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
