Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hansford Boddie; her parents, Buster Langford and Margaret Maddox Langford; her brothers, Donald Langford and William Langford; and her granddaughter, Susan Elizabeth Humphries.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Casilda) Humphries, Cynthia Posey (Robert Stephenson), William Humphries (Rattana Maholan), and Warren (Shannon) Humphries; her grandchildren, Austin Posey, Michael Humphries, Amanda (Jeremy) Peavey, Lauren (Dakota) Brown, Daniel Humphries, and Joseph Humphries; and five great grandchildren.
Betty was a member of the 1971 graduating class at St. Margaret's School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in Montgomery, Alabama at St. Margarets, St. Jude, Jackson, and The Montgomery Surgery Center, as well as Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama before retiring from service with the state (Medicaid). She was a kidney transplant patient at 75 and was extremely thankful for her donor allowing her a good quality of life until her passing at age 89. She was a member of Dalraida Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL, where she enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday school class as well as mission trips continuing the ethical promise made by graduating nurses well after retirement.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Humphries, Warren Humphries, Michael Humphries, Daniel Humphries, Joseph Humphries, and James Blake.
A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109 on August 14, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am.
The Funeral Service will start at 11:00 am, with a graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, AL 36109.
