Bill Peterson

William George Peterson Jr., age 68, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. He was born to William Sr. and raised by him and his loving stepmother, Laura Peterson. A retired firefighter for the Montgomery Fire Dept., Bill later worked as a bus mechanic for Montgomery Public Schools. In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking. His interests included hunting and fishing (especially deep sea fishing), Auburn football and Braves baseball. While he had a few interests, he deeply loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Belita Abrams. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Peterson; his brother, David (Kim) Peterson; his children, Don (Kathryn) Coker, Frank (Erica) Coker and Cindy J. Coker; his grandchildren, Joshua (Melissa) Coker, Will Coker, Kaitlyn (Dalton) Bass, Evey Coker, and Reagan Coker; and great grandchildren, Zoey Bass and Waylon Coker.

A family and friends visitation for Bill will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Steep Creek Baptist Church, 7151 County Rd. 37, Hope Hull, AL, followed by a celebration of life church service at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude with a burial in the church cemetery. Officiating Rev. John Fleming.
