Billie Jean Payne

PAYNE, Billie Jean, a resident of Montgomery, AL passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Her Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Leak Memory Chapel at 2 PM, followed by her Funeral Service at 3 PM, with Rev. Dean Finch officiating. Private burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Born in Cottonton, Alabama, Mrs. Payne was a graduate of Eufaula High School and Massey Draughn Business College. She was a long-time member of Dalraida Baptist Church and later joined Taylor Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Payne is preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Payne, Jr., and a grandson, Cpl., USMC Bradford Payne. Survivors include her children, William Howard Payne, III (Carol), Barry Lee Payne, and Vickie P. Lee (Mike); sisters-in-law, Bettie Lou Hammond and Joanne Collier; grandchildren, Sharon Payne Barnes, Katherine Payne Taylor, and Pete Lee; great-grandchildren, Garrett Barnes, Gauge Payne, Hudson Barnes, Copeland Taylor, and Kylee Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe Thomas, Zeke Westbrook, Klem Paulk, Bill Sewell, Art Sexton, and Garrett Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be her caregivers, Paula Pippen, Lynn Greger, Marsha Jackson, Maxine Jackson, and Monica Williams, as well as the Taylor Road Baptist Church Adult 6D Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers the family request Memorials be made to Taylor Road Baptist Church Building Fund or one’s favorite Charity.
