Bobbi June Standridge Arendsen, age 84, of Wetumpka, Alabama went home to be with Jesus of Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father John Wesley Standridge, her mother Carolyne Augusta Hudson, and her brother Richard Hudson Dennis and Donald Cloise Dennis Jr.
She is survived by her husband, LD John Arendsen; her sons Scott Wayne Arendsen (and Elaine Catherine Mullen Arendsen) and Steven Boyd Arendsen (and Deborah Lynn Ellingson Arendsen); her grandchildren, Andrew Tyler Arendsen, Ashley Noel Arendsen Burkhart (and Matthew Scott Burkhart), Adam Daniel Arendsen, Jake William Arendsen (and Laurel Elizabeth Baxley Arendsen), Cole Steven Arendsen and Jenna Lynn Arendsen; and her great-grandchildren Declan Joseph Burkhart and Kaiden James Burkhart.
Bobbi was born in Montgomery, Alabama on June 13, 1940. She grew up in Montgomery spending much of her life with her grandparents and her aunt (Ann Simpson). Being only a few years older, they were raised as sisters and continued to be close through the years. After marrying LD on August 31, 1958, the two began a life of love of Christ and family for over 66 years. They spent their early years in Germany, California, North Carolina and Alabama as LD pursued a career in the Air Force with one son born in Germany and one son in Alabama.
After retiring from military service, Bobbi and LD settled in her hometown of Montgomery, Alabama. Bobbi worked at Rhodes Furniture and the Department of Revenue until her retirement. After her retirement, her years were devoted to her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whenever possible as well as other family and friends. Shopping was a hobby she enjoyed and loved cooking especially during the holidays. There are many fond memories of making peanut butter balls, eating fresh pound cake with peaches or strawberries and just being together whatever the occasion.
Bobbi shared her love of family, the importance of spending time with family and friends, doing for others and going to church with her children and grandchildren through all she did. She will be in our hearts and minds today and always.
A friends and family visitation for Bobbi will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
