

Bobbie Gray Hyde McBride, age 95, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Trussville, Alabama. Bobbie was born in Evergreen, Alabama on September 22, 1930, but spent most of her life in Montgomery, Alabama. She attended Lanier High School where she was voted Most Popular. Bobbie married Richard Douglas McBride on June 28, 1952. They had twin daughters, Susan and Paige in 1955 and Amy in 1959. Bobbie was a member of First Baptist Church Montgomery for many years where she was a Youth Camp Counselor.
She graduated from Huntington College in 1973 and started teaching 4th grade at Saint James School. She went back to college for her Master’s and Administrative Degree and became an Elementary School Principal in 1979. She was Principal of Saint James Elementary School for 22 years. She retired in 2001 after surviving Ovarian Cancer two times. After retiring, she moved to Trussville, Alabama to be closer to family. While living in Trussville, she was a member of First Baptist Church Trussville where she loved her bible studies with Precept.
Bobbie never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. She greeted each person with open arms, and those who had the privilege of knowing her were better for it. Through her genuine kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for others, she touched countless lives. Bobbie left a lasting impact on everyone she met, and her warmth and generosity will be remembered always.
Bobbie's love for pigs was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. Her home, wardrobe, jewelry, and décor reflected her affection for them, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew her. One of her most treasured and memorable possessions was a taxidermy pig named Wilburette, who held a special place in her home. Bobbie was also a devoted Auburn fan who loved reading, working puzzles, and sharing her extensive knowledge of Alabama's rich history. These passions were just a few of the many things that made her so uniquely herself.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doug, of 67 years, her parents Reuben L. Hyde and Gladys Hyde, and her brother Reuben Hyde. She is survived by her children Susan Marlow, Paige Manning (Gene), Amy Bowden (Cecil), her granddaughters Courtney Stodghill (Brad), Haley Smith (Zac), Gray Norris, Kristen Campbell (Jon), Mallory Marlow and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be held in Montgomery, Alabama at Leak Memorial on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 2:00. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home. Graveside will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
