Bonnie Carol Vickery

She is preceded in death by her father, Hilliard Carnathan, sister, Amy Carnathan Hurley, brother-in law, Charles Cleveland Hataway, nephew Chase Hataway and her first husband, Donald B. McEnery.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, James R. Vickery, step-children, Sharon (Danny) Fuller, Kim (Brian) Slaughter, Laurie (Bruce) Weathers, Marcie (Randy) Dykes, her mother, Betty Carnathan Keyes, brother, Jay (Drema) Carnathan, sister, Kitti Carnathan Hataway and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School, Bonnie pursued a career in the banking industry where she worked her way up, becoming proficient in every department until her retirement. It was there that she met and married her first husband, Donnie on July 28, 1979. They resided in Montgomery, AL, Norcross, GA, Villa Tasso, FL and finally returning home to Montgomery where they lived until Donnie’s passing in 2015.

The things Bonnie enjoyed most in her life where family and friends, painting, drawing, decorating, cooking (trying new recipes) music and singing in the choir! She was extremely artistic and she was a very generous giver who delighted in doing for others. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her wonderful church family at Lakeview Baptist Church. It was there she rededicated her life to Christ and was baptized again through immersion. She also met her husband, James and they were married on February 16, 2020, she so enjoyed their brief but sweet time together over the past few years.

Bonnie was the BEST wife, daughter, sister, aunt, stepmother/grandmother in the world, who loved the Lord and her family more than anything else. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed!
