Brenda Lee Vann passed away on June 21, 2015. Brenda was born to Frederick M. Vann and Mary C. Vann of Montgomery, AL on December 19, 1950. An accomplished woman, Brenda served the local community as an Attorney specializing in Social Security Disability law for over 20 years. She ran her own law firm, Brenda L. Vann, Attorney at law, PC for 8 years. She worked closely with her clients and was loved by many.
Brenda earned a Juris Doctor from Faulkner University Jones School of Law in 1994. In 1994, she obtained the highest score that year on the Alabama State Bar examination. She also held a Master of Education from Auburn University at Montgomery, and a Bachelor of Arts from Huntingdon College. Brenda was a member of the Alabama Bar and Montgomery County Bar Association as well as a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant Representatives.
Prior to practicing law, Brenda worked within the State Department of Human Resources as an Administrative Hearing Officer, taught at Auburn University of Montgomery as an Adjunct Instructor in Sociology, and was Director of the Central AL Area Agency on Aging for the Central Alabama Aging Consortium.
Brenda is survived by her sister, Jenille Ball of Montgomery, AL; her daughter, Jessica Vann of Atlanta, GA; her son, Philip Vann of Atlanta, GA; and her nephews Lt. Colonel Desmond Bailey and Daxton Bailey of Wetumpka, AL. Brenda was a dedicated mother, Christian, and attorney – focusing her time on helping and supporting those who needed it most.
