His life was so fulfilling with his union with Margaret P. Johnson on September 2, 1972. He was a mechanic, truck driver, 33rd Degree Mason of Shazam Temple, and a man of many skills at Gunter Air Force base as well as Maxwell Air Force base. He laid his wife to rest on December 6, 2020.
He is preceded in death by 3 children, Roosevelt, Angela, and Gloria; as well as former wife, Mrs. Leola J. Johnson who was laid to rest in 2022. He leaves a lasting legacy of respect, memories, and much love.
He is survived by his sister, Victoria Johnson (Larry Johnson); 8 children, Byers, Cynthia, Antoinette, Anthony, Theresa, Marvin, Taramisha, and Cassandra; 34 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; as well as loving great great grandchildren.
A visitation for Byers will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
