Carmen Blase Gemette

Carmen Blase Gemette of Montgomery AL was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all! After a long, hard fight with pancreatic cancer, Carmen passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the age of 78 years old, peacefully at home, surrounded by his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Gemette and Josephine Gemette, his siblings, Frank Gemette Jr, Geraldine Gemette, Bernadette Gemette, and Richard Gemette. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Gemette, and three children Joey Wells, Richard Gemette (Stephanie Gemette), and Traci Gemette Boyd (Gerald Boyd). Carmen had 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren that he loved dearly. He was a dedicated employee of Flower’s Bakery for over 35 years serving as a superintendent. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and a devoted member to his community. Carmen loved Christmas and spread his light through many years of Christmas displays and contributions to the food bank. He spent countless hours preparing his home into a Christmas wonderland for all to see. Aside from his lights, Carmen loved spending time with his family and friends at the lake and was well known for cleaning all his fish on the pier! We will forever miss sunset boat rides and his famous words “I love you man.” None of this compares to him being in the presence of Jesus! Services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Leak Memory Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1:00pm and the service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Johnny Rush officiating.
