A Mission from God
For Carol, teaching was her purpose —a calling that shaped her life and touched generations of children.
She began her teaching journey introducing Spanish to kindergarten students, then opened her own dance studio, sharing her love of dance and fostering the talents of young people. She later taught second grade at Prattville Primary School, where her expertise in early childhood education made a lasting difference during the most formative years of a child's life.
Perhaps no chapter of her life better reflected her calling than her 40 years teaching the Something Special Sunday school class for students with special needs. For decades, she faithfully devoted her time and talents to Heaven's special children who deserved esteem for the value they each brought to the world. More than service; this reflected her purpose.
Whether teaching a language, a rhythm time step, a science concept, or a lesson on Christ's love, Carol understood that every child had something to learn, something to offer, and a place in the world.
Carol's legacy is not measured solely in the lessons or the years. It lives on in the lives she influenced, and the ways her philosophy and worldview made a difference simply by answering God's call.
Teaching was Carol's mission. Her children and other people's children were her life's work. What remains is her enduring legacy.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 25, at Leak-Memory Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
