Carolyn James Carter

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mildred James; as well as her great-grandson, Remington Smith. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Odom; children, Tim Thornton (Christy), and Kayce Smith (Glen); grandchildren, Chaz Thornton, Logan Thornton (Tatum), Jacob Smith, Mitchell Smith (Amanda), and Caitlin Ward (Bailey); and great-grandchildren, Grayson Thornton, Sutton Ward, Ryleigh Smith, and Sophia Hadden.

Carolyn loved attending all of her grandsons' baseball games and tournaments. She never missed a game. She spent her time caring for her flower beds and working in her yard. Carolyn kept busy and always had a DIY project that she was working on. She also loved to spend her weekends at the lake. Being on the water was her favorite place to be. Carolyn is also survived by her four legged best friend, Jordan, her chocolate lab. Jordan and Carolyn were inseparable best girlfriends.

A funeral service for Carolyn will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109 with a visitation 1 hour prior. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.

Pallbearers for Carolyn's services will be Joe Hicks, Mike Odom, Adam Sanford, Josh Saunders, Tim Sipper, and Zack Thompson.
