

Carroll served his country in the United States Air Force for thirty years receiving two Air Force Commendations, (one) in Montana for updating nuclear weapons and (two) in Greece NCOIC for the same. He later settled in Montgomery, opening and managing the Tandy Leather Store on Coliseum Blvd and then obtaining The Cloverdale Shoe where he worked and then retired.
His hobbies and interests included spending time with his family, RVing, camping, hunting, golf, leatherwork, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years, Helene, his granddaughter Carey and sister Nadean.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia (David) Dew, Sandra (Robert) Tucker, grandchildren Carroll Ryan (Melissa) Morrow, Sarah Dicks, Kelly (Kyle) Norman, bonus grandchildren Cliff (Crystal) Dew, Jake (Morgan) Dew, great grandchildren, Kylie, Kayden, Bryleigh, Jenna, Grayson, Madison, Chandler, Ellie, Rhett, Andi and also numerous cousins.
A graveside service celebrating Carroll's life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery. We invite all who knew and loved Carroll to join us in honoring his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Carroll's memory to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital and DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
