Charles Barry Gager

Charles Barry Gager, 74, precious, loving Father, Grandfather, Husband and Friend, passed from this life on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 11:00 AM at Santuck Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Gore officiating. Mr. Gager was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Tamra Gager Dowdy and sister, Barbara Neel. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ellis Gager and children, Barry Thane Gager, Nashville, TN and daughter, Gretchen Gager Haynes (Tim) of Birmingham, AL. He has five wonderful grandsons, Chase Dowdy, Ben Gager, Mason Haynes, Andrew Haynes and Max Haynes. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Gager (Mary) , Brother-in-law Malcom Neel, Half- brother, Mark Gager and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Gager came to Montgomery while in the US Air Force. He is originally from Henderson, Kentucky. Leaving the Air Force, he made his home in Montgomery. He has had the privilege of working at Wells Printing Co. for 48 years. He was an honorable man and made everyone a friend along his way. He lived life with gusto, loved Kentuck basketball, his children, family, work, friends and church family at Santuck Baptist Church. He will be buried at Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Eclectic, Al. Pallbearers will be Mac Neel, Tim Haynes, Chase Dowdy, Mike Ellis, Sidney Wells and Howard Wells.
