Charles Robert Greenwell

Mr. Charles Greenwell died at his home on Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife: Frances Ray Miller Greenwell and 9 siblings: Martha, Cecil, Tommy, Ray, Bill, Lou, Helen, Jan and Dorothy. He is survived by his children: Charles (Monica) Greenwell, Larry (JoAnne) Greenwell, Jacque (John) Ellison, Kevin (Georgia) Greenwell, Theresa (Marty) Redden, Ronnie (Karen) Greenwell, Jeanne (Bill) Paxson, Robert (deceased), and Laura (Brian) Hidle.

His grandchildren include: Nicholas Greenwell, Ashley Greenwell, Courtney Adams, Zachary Greenwell, Sarah Mann, Justin Tomberlin, Joseph Tomberlin, Robert Tomberlin, Anthony Greenwell, J. Michael Ellison, Peter Ellison, Dianna Callahan, Thaddeus Theriot-Greenwell, Joshua Theriot Greenwell, Jessica Theriot-Greenwell, Jenny James, Stephanie Rogers, Cara Greenwell, Katie Greenwell, Brantley Nichols, Kyle Hidle, Chanli Barker, Chase Hidle, Brock Hidle and Alana Hidle as well as 23 great grandchildren.

Mr. Greenwell was a traffic controller who loved his family deeply. He was exceptionally well-read and enjoyed writing poetry, playing cards (especially bridge) and discussing politics. As evidence by his large family, he was very pro-life. A man of prayer, he will be remembered as a loving father and husband who spent many hours caring for his family. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the chapel of White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 9:45am followed by a Funeral Mass a 10:00am in the sanctuary of St. Joseph's Catholic Church located at 511 North Memorial Dr. Prattville, Al. Father Zachary Greenwell and Father Jan Zagorski will be officiating. The burial will be private. Arrangements under the direction of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, Montgomery, AL.
