Charles P. Heatherly, Sr., 87, a resident of Wetumpka, AL, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Wetumpka with Rev. Gerald Wood officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the services in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Heatherly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He had many hobbies, including racing and flying, but his greatest passion was trains. Mr. Heatherly is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Heatherly; children, Margaret Ann Turner, Dennis Heatherly, Ron Heatherly (Jackie), Starr Goude (Loren), Rhonda Thrasher, Vicki Brackett (Clyde), Phil Heatherly (Annette); fourteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; special brother in law, Bill Clements; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tripp Goude, Clay Raybon, Tanner McBee, Andy Horsley, Jason Horsley, and Zach Davidson. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to Faith Baptist Church in Wetumpka in memory of Charles P. Heatherly.
