Charles McNair

McNair, Charles (Chuck) G., 90, a life-long resident of Montgomery, AL, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 24, 2011. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, at 10:00 am at Heritage Baptist Church with a celebration service following at 11:00 am. Then an inurnment ceremony will be held at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL at 2:45 pm. Officiating the services will be Dr. Teman Knight. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Shirley Cox McNair. Other surviving family members include stepsons Bill (Becky) Cox of Montgomery and Herbert (Linda) Coley of Fort Morgan, AL; stepdaughters Teresa (Bobby) Rivers of Duluth, GA and Rhonda (Norbert) Eubanks of Mobile, AL. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a devoted member of Heritage Baptist Church. Chuck was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict where he was a recipient of five Purple Hearts, three Bronze Stars, and the Korean Service Medal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Baptist Church – Legacy Fund.
