Charles Arthur Persons, age 92, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. Charles was born to Willie Persons and Fannie K. Bradshaw in 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, William Persons Jr. and Lewis O. Persons Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Doris Dunkin Persons; his children, Steven Moseley (Susan), Rebecca P. Wells (Kenneth), and Lisa M. Mills (Mike); his grandchildren, Anna Wells Benson (Brent), Hailey Mills (Meagan Spiegel), Jaclyn Mills Schofield (Robert), and Benjamin Moseley; and his great grandchildren, Henley Benson, Vance Benson, Bentlee Spiegel, and Natalie Schofield.
An Army veteran, Charles will be remembered as a repair/salesman for commercial dry cleaning and laundry equipment. A faithful Sunday School teacher, Mr. Persons was also the coffee maker for the Men's Weekly Bible Study group at Dalraida Global Methodist Church and was involved in their Emmaus Walk ministry as well as many other church activities and committees.
A graveside service for Mr. Persons will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:15 AM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Following the graveside service will be a celebration of life memorial service at 2:00 PM at Dalraida Global Methodist Church, 3817 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery, AL.
