James Charles Chambers Jr. (Charley), 69, a resident of Montgomery went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel Everett Chambers Sr. and Elizabeth Suggs Chambers and David Charles McLennan and Eleanor Verneuille McLennan, his father, James Charles Chambers Sr., and brother, Michael Bruce Chambers. Charley was an avid Batman fan and longtime subscriber of T.V. Guide. He loved country music, cards, watching television and working puzzles. Charley was a lifelong student of McInnis School and the Therapeutic Recreation Center and client of Montgomery Assoc. for Retarded Citizens (MARC). He was a sweet boy with a pure soul who never had any ill intent towards anyone (unless they messed with his T.V. Guide or changed the channel when Batman was on.) Charley enjoyed the company of friends, especially the ladies, calling them “Sweetie,” “Sugar,” and “Honey.” He detested doctors and still believed in Santa Claus. He is survived by his loving mother, Lou Chambers; his brother, Paul Chambers; his sister, Amy (Jamie) Brown; nieces, Nora, Cecile, Frances and nephew, Salinger. A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel from 12:00-1:00 pm on Monday, January 27 followed by a graveside in Greenwood Cemetery at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you be kind to special people like Charley and teach your children to be kind to them too as Charley and special needs people like him are angels among us.
