Charlie Mae Cordle, age 100 passed away November 29, 2022 at Crowne Nursing Home, where she had resided since 2008. She was born July 6, 1922, in Coffee County, Alabama to Richard and Lula Wilson.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Joseph Milford Cordle; sister, Mae Bell Bass; brother, Hubert Wilson, two sons-in-law, Jack Thompson and Bill Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Thompson Johnson; sister, Edna “Sally” Wilson Walker; sisters-in-law Lois Miller, Annette Cordle and Shirley Cordle. She was blessed with Step Grands, Step Great Grands, Step Great, Great Grands along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks, from Linda, to the entire staff of Crowne Nursing Home, but especially the 2nd Hall staff for their special care and attention to her Mother the past fourteen years and to Comfort Care Hospice nurses, Joy, George, Amber and Michelle; Aide, Regina; Chaplain Alonza Daniel and Social Worker, Sabrina for their love and compassion the past three years.
Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 on Friday, December 2, 2022 with graveside services to follow, where she will be laid to rest at their family plot in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bass, Danny Bass, Nick Letlow, Ricky Cleckler, Roger Cleckler, and Stacey Strickland.
A celebration of life visitation for Charlie will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the celebration of life visitation will be a celebration of life graveside service at 12:00 PM.
