Christine Thornton Green

Ms. Green had a love for cooking, gardening, dancing, and traveling. She was also a long-time member of Hope Hull United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maggie Thornton; brothers, Ernest, Ralph, Eugene, Almus, Billy; and her sister, Mada.

Survivors include her children, Kay Shaw, Michael (Laurie) Green; grandchildren, Shanna (Jonathan) Aplin, Leslie Garvin, Amy Shaw, Angel (Skip) Lathan, Austin (Robin) Green; great-grandchildren, Tatum Aplin, Shaw Aplin, Addison Hussey, Henlee Garvin, and Brewer Garvin.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Chris Cook officiating. The visitation will begin at 1:30 PM, prior to the service. Leak Memory Chapel is directing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hull United Methodist Church’s Building Fund.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the caregivers who have helped Ms. Green over the past eight years.
