Christopher Michael Bedingfield

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher Michael Bedingfield, age 52, of Hermitage, TN who passed away peacefully on 12 July 2026 in Wetumpka, AL. Called Mike by all who loved him, he was born in Okinawa on 17 Jan 1974 to David and Rosalyn Bedingfield. A lifelong musician, he started forming bands in middle school in Montgomery, AL, with his most prolific project the creation of the band Phelony with friends Freddy Hull, Kevin Palmer, and Tom Eubanks. After high school at Robert E. Lee, Mike moved to Nashville, TN to continue to pursue music. Ultimately, he found a love in software programming, and he created software for point-of-sale systems with best friend Tommy Adair at DCR for two decades. A man with many hobbies, Mike was proficient with 3D printing, saltwater fish tanks, kayaking, drones, art in various forms, astrophotography, 3D drawing and model making, and so many other hobbies. He authored two books on software development, and he enjoyed his Dr Peppers and his world famous porkchops and rice, with copious amounts of Kikkoman soy sauce. Furiously loyal to his close friends, Mike lived his life courageously, always charting his own path. A journey with him was always an adventure, sprinkled along the way with his famous wit and humor. Towards the end of his life Mike returned to earlier themes, in particular his Christian roots.

Mike is survived by his parents, David and Rosalyn Bedingfield, his brother John (Kim) Bedingfield, and sister Kari (Josh) Webster. He is also survived by his four nieces and nephews who he loved to spoil at Christmas, Tristen and Ellajay Webster, and Jamie and Grace Bedingfield. He was also loved by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Intensely private, Mike asked for no service or ceremony. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. The family would like to express our deep gratitude for all the doctors, nurses, technicians, and hospice workers who participated in Mike’s care, and look forward to being reunited in heaven with Mike one day.
