Chrystabell King was a devoted mother, nurse, proud Lilly Baptist Church member serving as a Matron, on the Missionary Circle, and singing in the JE Noble Choir. She was tirelessly involved in community affairs. She served as a docent at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts as well the president of the Woodcrest Community Association. Chrystabell never retired from nursing, most recently serving as an LPN representative on the Alabama Board of Nursing. She loved traveling and often attended tournaments with the Montgomery Pinochle Pals.
Left to cherish her memories are her children: Barbara Mosley, Montgomery, AL; Marvin (Young) King, Ventura, CA; Frank King, San Diego, CA; Grace (Darryl W.) King, Suwanee, GA; Karen (Kenneth B.) King, Stone Mountain, GA.; Ten grandchildren, Brian (Kendra) King, Tiffany (Kenneth) Arterberry, Aaron Smith, Geoff (Fiona) Mosley, Greg (Sawnsai) Mosley, Kristy King, Darryl Washington Jr., Justin Smith, Shakarah (Cory) Morgan and preceded in death by her grandson: Brendan Smith. She also leaves behind twelve great grandchildren: Melanie Arterberry, Megan Arterberry, Keon Arterberry, Myles Arterberry, Saniyah Mosley, Kingston Mosley, Barrington Mosley, Maxwell Mosley, Brianna King, Kierra King, Taylen King, and Carmen King as well as one great great grandchild: Zoe Simmons.
Chrys King will be missed by her devoted sisters: Letha Patrick, Chicago, IL; Carriebell Hatcher, Selma, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, Lilly Baptist church members, former colleagues, and friends. Chrystabell was preceded in death by her siblings: Mable Granton, Stephen Lewis, Herman Lewis, Leonard Lewis, and Joseph Lewis.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 23 at 11:00 am within Lilly Baptist Church, 820 Hill Street, Montgomery, AL.
