Clarence Franklin McCorkle (Frank) a life long resident of Montgomery Ala¬bama passed away on October 15th, 2018 at the age of 90. He was born on September 26, 1928 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Jessie Lewis and Nancy Lillian Duke McCorkle before moving to Montgomery Alabama as a child.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Mi¬chael Joseph McCorkle, sister Margaret Conner (Bob), brother Walter Joseph McCorkle (Betty), and niece Mary Robin Butler.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Martha Sue McCorkle, daughter Martha McCorkle Aman (Doug), grandchildren Douglas Keith Aman, Jr., Mallory Aman Wilson (Trent), and Bryan Frank¬lin Aman (Laura) and great grandchildren Miller Jacobs Wilson (11), Tucker Douglas Wilson (9), Douglas Wilson Aman(9), Mallory Claire Wil¬son(8), Mary Katherine Aman (6), Frank McCorkle Aman(5), and John Carter Aman (2).
Frank graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. In 1951 he graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) with a BS in the Building Science Program where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. In 1951 Frank married his high school sweetheart Martha Sue Bailey. He served his country in Korea in the Army Corp of Engineers where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Upon returning to Montgomery, he started his career at Halstead Construction Company before forming Stuart- McCorkle Construction Company. Professionally, he served as State President of the AGC. He served on the Boards at First United Methodist Church, Chamber of Commerce, and Salvation Army. He was an avid Auburn Fan and
served as President of the Montgomery Auburn Club. He proudly served as a member of the Kiwa¬nis Club and was recently named Mayor of Respite.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church.
