Clifford Bruce Harden, age 79, of Montgomery, died March 2, 2016. Bruce attended Mercer University, where he received a degree in Chemistry in three years, and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia. He entered the Army and earned the rank of Captain in the Third Infantry, serving in Germany. After his military service, he completed a residency in psychiatry. He spent most of his career at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa, and also treated patients at Taylor-Hardin Secure Medical Facility in Tuscaloosa and Greil Memorial Psychiatric Hospital in Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Christl E.R. Harden; son Charles and his wife Maureen of Pensacola; son Steve and his wife Mary of Nashville; son Sig and his wife Lisa of Montgomery; grandchildren Anna, Martin, Philip, Christopher, and Claire; brother Marshall Brent Harden of Hawkinsville, Georgia; and nephew Joachim Hack of Dettelbach, Germany.
A Memorial Mass will be held on March 7 at 2 p.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the City of St. Jude, Montgomery, or National Alliance on Mental Illness, Alabama
