Dino Orphan, 78, a resident of Montgomery, AL died Sunday, November 6, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Greek Orthodox Church with Father John Vernikos officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM at the Alexander City Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Dimitroula Tsaros (Vasilios); cousin, Jimmy Catechi; extended family, Theo & Angia Katechis, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Avgerine Orphan and his brother Spiro Orphan. Dino was born in Alexander City and was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where he played football for the Mississippi Southerners. He was the owner of Dino’s Bar in Montgomery, and served in the U. S. Navy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church in Montgomery.
