February 2, 1947 – April 5, 2021
Cynthia (Cindy) Love Gordon Brooks,
74 years old of Hope Hull, Alabama battled with her health for many years and now has gone to join the angels on April 5, 2021 with family by her side.
She was born to the late MaeCarrol and Alvin Gordon on Feb. 2, 1947, she was the widow of Thomas Eugene Brooks Jr. They were married for 50 years and lived in Homestead, Fl before retiring and moving back home to Alabama in 2003. Cindy graduated from Lanier High school in 1965 and went on to receive her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Troy University.
Cindy is survived by her two daughters Marcy (Jon) Colombini and Faye Lantz, her grandchildren Jonathon, Austin, Jordan, Laura, Tristan, Hayden, Kaylin, Abby, great-grandson Huckleberry and her younger sister Dawn (Robert) Williams.
She retired as a teacher from Dade County Public Schools where she taught from Sept.1970- June 2002. She loved teaching and her students loved her. She loved helping them discover a passion for learning. Her students would return as they got older just to thank her for making a difference in their lives and those were some of her happiest days as a teacher.
Cindy loved her church family and loved singing in the choir with her family and friends. She looked forward to every Sunday.
As of right now there are no funeral arrangements made but when they are finalized we will post announcements.
No public services are scheduled at this time. Receive a notification when services are updated.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Cindy. I have so many memories of all of us growing up together in Hope Hull , going to church together, hanging out at the rec center, going to Baldwin together. Even though I haven’t seen much of you in the past, you and your family have always been in my thoughts. I’m glad Cindy moved back to Hope Hull recently so you could closely share your lives together again. It means a lot to have a sister “in shouting distance.” Love to all! Becky Crosby Holmes
