

Danny was born on May 22, 1951 in Troy, Al. He proudly served his country for 43 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his military career, he served tours in Korea, the Panama Canal, Ecuador, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, along with many other relief efforts whenever his country called. His dedication to service and commitment to duty were a defining part of his life.
Outside of his military service, Danny was known as a skilled mechanic and true jack of all trades. If he set his mind to something, there was no doubt he would accomplish it. Whether it was remodeling his home, fixing a vehicle, or stepping in as the plumber when needed, Danny took pride in working with his hands and solving problems. He was a man who believed in getting the job done and doing it right.
Above all, Danny loved his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose strength, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Campbell and Polly Powell; his beloved wife, Patricia Campbell; his siblings, JoAnn Parsons and Carl Campbell; his sister-in-law Debra Betts and his son-in-law, Doug Miller.
Danny is survived by his loving companion of 14 years, Diane Verrett; his children, Curtis Campbell (Erica), Eric Campbell (Susan), Mike Kionka (Melissa), and Sandra Miller; his grandchildren, T.J. Kionka (Sydney), Amanda Overstreet (Logan), Christian Campbell, Troy Morgan, Miali Morgan, Mason Miller, and Kacy Cripple; and his great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Jace, and Lainey Kionka; Ava and Ryker Overstreet; Oakley and Hunter Campbell; Maggie and Morgan Cripple, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on March 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on March 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at White Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Erwin officiating, with burial to follow at Greenwood Serenity Gardens.
Danny’s legacy of hard work, dedication to his country, and love for his family will live on in the many lives he touched. His strength, humor, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
