Tillery, Daryl Norman, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2016, at the age of 48. Daryl was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on Valentine's Day, 1968, to Horace J. and Georgia "Polly" Duncan Tillery, and his older and better looking brother, Dennis Tillery. Daryl grew up in Montgomery, where he attended Catoma Elementery, and graduating from Lowndes Academy in 1986. Daryl played sports from an early age, playing both the Dixie Youth baseball and YMCA football leagues. He carried his athletic performance into his high school years where he excelled in both football and baseball. Daryl was a valued friend and teammate. As a child and into his young adulthood, he was a member and attended Catoma Baptist Church, where he was baptized a Christian in 1978, at 10 years of age. Daryl enjoyed participating in the activities at church and sang in the children's and youth choirs. Along with his brother, Daryl and his father spent hours hunting and fishing in the area lakes and woods. Daryl was the service manager and partner in the family business, Tillery Heating and Air Conditioning. Daryl was respected for his work ethic and providing quality customer service to many in the Montgomery and surrounding areas. Many customers referred to him fondly as their "littlie buddy" after having taken care of their service needs for so many years. Daryl is survived by his loving parents, Horace and Polly; brother, Dennis; his long-time special friend, John Lawrence; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 12 Noon, at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, followed by his Life Celebration Service at 2 PM, with Dr. Rick Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Sellers, Alabama. Memorials may be made to Eastern Hills Baptist Church or Autism Society of Alabama. Condolences may be offered at www.leak-mc.com.
