David was an avid sports fan and was a well-rounded athlete at Sidney Lanier High School as well as Auburn University where he graduated with a B.S. Degree in 1970. Everyone knew him as "Beaver" a nickname that he had from grammar school all the way through his life.
David is preceded in death by his father Henry D. Ward, mother Alice H. Ward of Montgomery, brother Robert L. Ward of Cumming, GA. He is survived by his younger brother Michael H. Ward of Montgomery, AL, niece Emily Ward Price of Gainesville, GA and nephew Robert Lee Ward Jr. of Cumming, GA.
