Dr. Rohlig was such a big influence on my life, both at church and at home. I remember his talks about the different types of music that is played in churches and the philosophy behind them. I will never forget him for the life lessons he taught us church musicians as it has inspired me to remember for whom I play and share my gift of music - Our Lord.

Det was a very great guy. He lived next door and treated me like I was his own child. I spent everyday with him since I met him at age 10. I'm 17 now and when I heard of his passing. I was so sad. Things will never be the same. I talked to him before he went in for his surgery and now i'm glad I did. Det was like a father to me, and always will be. I love and miss him more than anything in this world. Prayers are sent to his family.

Det was a wonderful man - very caring, giving and gracious. Although we divorced many years ago, he will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope it is comforting to Harald to know that he will see Detlev again in Heaven. All my love Harald.

So sad.

He had previously been married to my daughter, Lisa.
We thought a lot of him.

Dear Dr. Rohlig and Jeanette,

God bless you in this time of your loss. My mom called me and told me of Detlev's passing. You can rest assured that he has a place in my heart and that my dad greeted him at the pearly gates.

Dear Dr. Rohlig,
I was so sorry to hear of your son's passing. I didn't know him, but you have remained dear in my thoughts for these many years since I graduated Huntingdon College in 1985. I continue as a church pianist and remember what you told us about playing for the Father every time I select my music for worship. Thank you for all you taught me in your music in the Christian faith and composition classes. I regret never having the chance to study organ with you.
