

The Rev. Donald G. Cox, 82, of Montgomery, Ala., died Feb. 1, 2016. Born Dec. 4, 1933, in Mount Hope, W.Va., Rev. Cox and his late wife, Mary Josephine, served in the Assemblies of God for more than 50 years in West Virginia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee. Rev. Cox was pastor of First A/G Church in Tullahoma from 1971-77 and Bethel A/G from 1978-81.A graduate of Southeastern Bible Institute in Lakeland, Fla., he also served as sectional presbyter in Tennessee and South Carolina districts. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford B. and Marie Cox, his wife Mary Josephine, brother Bill Cox and sister Joretta Crosby. He is survived by daughter, Rhonda (Rich) Ochenkowski of Lexington, Ky., and sons, Steve (Lynn) Cox of Montgomery, Ala., and Joseph (Kelly) Cox of Lakeland, Fla.; brother James Layton Cox of Ormond Beach, Fla., and sister, Dorothy Brooks of Charlottesville, Va.; grandchildren, Alicia Cox of Lakeland; Daria and Drew Ochenkowski of Lexington; and Dylan Fyffe of Montgomery.
Viewing at Leak Memory Chapel from 5 to 7 PM this Thursday and funeral services on Friday at 10 am at the chapel.
