Donald Jefferson Johnson

Donald Jefferson Johnson, age 88, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Donald was born April 26, 1933 to Foncer and Minnie Lee Johnson. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers James Junior Johnson, Diol Johnson, Billy Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Randall Johnson and Johnny Johnson; his sisters Sarah Virginia Eggers, Shirley Jones and Agnes Smart.

Donald is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Hughes Johnson; his sons Don Johnson of Montgomery, AL, Jerry Johnson (Alice) of Prattville, AL; his grandchildren Chris Johnson (Carol) of Montgomery, AL, Matt Johnson (Kim) of Prattville, AL, Marc Johnson (Saylor) Orlando, FL, Melissa Johnson Forsythe, Millbrook, AL; his great grandchildren Abby Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Daylynn Forsythe, Kelsey Blystone, Reece Johnson, Brayden Forsythe; his siblings Ronnie Johnson (Jean) of Luverne, AL, Patricia Walters (Randy) Prattville, AL, and brother in law Talmadge Smart. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that meant so much to him.

Don was a craftsman at Victorian Furniture for 17 yrs. and worked at Kimball Furniture for 27 years. He made beautiful furniture but also loved fishing and hunting. But most of all, he loved being in the woods, where he felt closest to God. He was a faithful Christian member who attend Beacon of Hope for 31 yrs. He built the beautiful cross in the sanctuary.

A visitation for Donald will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. A celebration of life chapel service will occur Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel followed by a graveside in Greenwood Cemetery.
