Donald was preceded in death by daughter Amy R. Young-Barber, parents Almon L. and Edith D. Young and brother Martin E. Young.
He is survived by wife of 57 years, Kate R. Young, nephew Ken (Jill) Davenport, grandchildren Reagan and Malorie Davenport, sisters Faye (Billy) Lynch, Martha Y. Hartley and brother Robert E. (Charlotte) Young all of McKenzie, AL, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Many thanks to a special caregiver Sonya Harris and family for all their support.
Mr. Young served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded various medals of honor, including a bronze medal.
A visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel on October 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM and a graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery.
