
Dora Mulkey Sievers, born December 17, 1923 left this worldly life for eternal peace with Jesus Christ on September 25, 2012. The last surviving member of the William George and Lizzie Raley Mulkey family of Andalusia, Alabama, was also a 66 year resident of Montgomery. She was predeceased by her son, Charles W. Sievers; great-granddaughter, Sarah Claire Brothers; and son-in-law, James M. Higgins. She is survived by a son, Walter G. (Beth) Sievers, Millbrook; three daughters, Betty (Don) Hutchinson, Montgomery; Bobbie Higgins, Starkville, MS; Linda (Bob) Brink, Cleveland, TN; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two expected great-grandsons. She was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Services will be led by Dr. Rick Marshall and Rev. Larry Armstrong at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. with burial following the services. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. She had successful careers at Montgomery Water Works and Sewer Board, Jackson Hospital of Montgomery, and as a teacher’s aide at Emma MacMillan Elementary School, retiring in May 1986. She was the first school patrol officer at MacMillan School, 1953-54. The family wishes to thank Capitol Hill Health Center and its’ Arrowhead Unit for the wonderful, loving care given to our Mother these past 22 months. A special thanks to Ms. Rose Hamilton for the love and friendship she shared with our Mother, as her roommate.
