She was the youngest of the six children born to Philip Ruby and Mattie May (Davis) Miniard and was preceded in death by them as well her husband, Derrell LaFrance Carter; and her daughter, Sharon Ann “Honey” Carter.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha Carter (Thomas Benjamin, III) Jones; and grandson Thomas Benjamin (Jennifer Campbell) Jones, IV.
Doris was a long time member of Morningview Baptist Church.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10 AM with Pastor Shawn Merithew officiating.
