Doris Thompson Cox

Doris Thompson “Dot” Cox, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dewitt & Frances Coleman; her father, Wilkie Thompson; her mother, Demarious Manning and her husband, Dewey; and her brother, Larry Manning. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Joseph Patrick Cox, Sr; her children, Joseph Patrick Cox, Jr., Patti Cox Campbell (Lyman), Tammy J. Cox; her grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson Miller (Josh), Patrick Curtis Cox; and her sister, Jo Ann Thompson Barnes.

Dot worked in the accounting department at the Robert Duke Insurance Agency and then at Palomar Insurance for many years. She was a member of Frazer Memorial UMC. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.

A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center in memory of Dot Cox.
