Doris Porterfield Kiser went to be with her Savior on June 6, 2026, in Spring, Texas, surrounded by family. Born July 4, 1930, in the community of Mt. Willing (Lowndes County), Alabama to Oliver George Porterfield and Synie Elizabeth (Barganier) Porterfield, she embodied the warmth, kindness and generosity of a true Southern lady, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Roy O'Neal Kiser, Sr., whom she married on October 13, 1948. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter until Roy's passing in 2013. Doris was also preceded in death by her brother, Oliver B. Porterfield. A devoted mother and grandmother, Doris leaves behind her loving children, Debra Kiser Bolin (Jeff) of Spring, Texas, and Roy O. Kiser, Jr. (Sara) of The Villages, Florida. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Andrew Bolin (Heather Bucharski), Emilea Bolin-Looper (Daniel), both of Conroe, Texas, and Haley Macaluso (John) of Spring, Texas. She also leaves one great-grandson, Russell Lewis Looper of Conroe, Texas, whom she absolutely adored. Doris leaves behind extended family, including nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends in Montgomery and at the Paradise Springs Retirement Community in Texas, where her caring nature continued to shine through. Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Tully Andrews Cleaners in Montgomery for many years. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her long-standing membership with the Church of Christ, first at Dalraida in Montgomery and later at The Church of Christ in Champions (Houston, TX), after moving to be closer to her daughter. Doris's life was one of service and love. She was known for her card ministry, touching lives with her thoughtful notes and her special Auburn Christmas cards, which brought smiles and warmth to many during the holiday season. Her ability to connect with people was unparalleled, and she made it her mission to make new acquaintances feel like old friends, fostering a sense of belonging and community wherever she went. Please join our family as we remember with love the positive influence Doris had on those around her.
