Dorothy L Sims

SIMS, Dorothy Louise, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011. Mrs. Sims was born November 3, 1924 in Crenshaw County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wilburn Ashley Sims, and a grandson, Christopher Brian Sims. She is survived by one brother, Wendall Williamson of Highland Home, AL; two sons, Jerry Wayne Sims (Karen)of Montgomery, AL, and Travis Lynn Sims (Lisa) of Montgomery, AL; grandsons, Jay Sims (Rhonda), Kevin Ashley Sims, Sr., and Travis DeWitt Sims; granddaughter, Ashley Louise Calloway (Blake) of Birmingham, AL; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Marie Sims, Kevin Ashley Sims, Jr., Jasmine Rose Sims, and Christian Nichole Dryden; Kristie Sims, mother of the Sims great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jay Sims, Kevin Sims, Sr., Kevin Sims, Jr., Travis Sims, Blake Calloway, and Ben Barnett. She loved all her dear friends from Highland Gardens Baptist Church and Evangel Temple. She will be missed by her family and friends who loved her so much. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Leak Memory Chapel. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
