Doyle Carlton Roberson was born on November 20, 1929, in Jasper Florida. His military service amounted to serving in the Air Force for thirty-five years: twenty in military service and fifteen in civilian service, retiring from the Air Force as a GM13. The major accomplishment for the Air Force was to write an online transportation program which was used to manage all vehicles in the Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Olivi Miller Roberson; father, William Westly Roberson; mother, Elsie Marie Vevan Roberson; brother, Van Roberson; sister, Westly Jean Roberson. He is survived by his two sons, William Bryant Roberson & David Jerome Roberson.
Doyle looked at his life as a gift from the Lord, for his ministry was based on the words of the Lord. “Your life is a precious gift from me. Open your hands and heart to receive this day gratefully. Relate to Me as your Savior and friend, but remember I am also your creator – God. All things were created by Me. As you go through this day I have gifted to you, look for signs of My abiding presence, I am with you, watching over you continually.” Colossians 1:1-4.
Doyle’s most cherished memory of his ministry to the Lord was the ministry God gave him in the Philippines from 1958 – 1960. There God used him to start and pastor a Baptist church in Bambam Province, where he trained two men. These men went on to start a school that trained fifty-two Baptist ministers. During the same time, he was treasurer of the Clark Field Baptist Church. The church became a school for fifty thousand Philippian students. He praised God for letting him be a part of these two great ministries.
Doyle served as the Senior Adult Pastor of Dalraida Baptist Church for nineteen years. This involved leading the church in ministering to Senior Adults for both active and homebound members. During those years, Doyle enjoyed planning and participating in local and long distant trips which included taking the Senior Adults to lunch on Senior Adult Sunday. He was very active with the Senior Adults participating in New Beginning Choir. The choir provided music for local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Bro. Doyle loved serving in the church library, with the use of his computer, where he maintained library records. AMEN!!
