Burial will follow at the Montgomery Memorial Gardens afterward.. Visitation will be 9:30 o’clock.
He was born in 1937, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Robert P. and Belva Stiver Dees. In 1965, Mr. Dees opened the Hap Jones Motorcycle Parts and Distributing Company, first one in the southeast. Prior to 1970, he opened Suzuki World. He retired at the age of 35 and moved to Niceville, FL. Returning to Montgomery, AL, he entered into the construction business building shopping centers, office buildings and houses. He was an active member of the Luverne Methodist Church. He also enjoyed cattle farming, boating, woodworking, traveling around the country with Pat in their RV, especially in the north-western states and Alaska. He was a member of the 1956 Class at Robert E. Lee High School, Montgomery and was a fan of the Auburn University Tigers
Mr. Dees was predeceased by his parents, his sister Minka Dees and his brother Robert Dees. He is survived by his wife Dr. Pat Floyd, Luverne, AL,
his daughter Lori Dees Abbott, Prattville, AL, his son Earl Lance (Valerie) Dees, Holtville, AL. He is also survived by his granddaughters:
Holli Abbott, Dallas, Texas, Brooke Abbott, Hendersonville, TN, Skyler Dees, Prattville, Kelsey Coggins, Auburn, Corey (Chelsea) Coggins,
Birmingham; great grandson, Jeffrey Coggins, Birmingham; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Roger Cross, Lamar Hanners, Paul Nichols, Danny Rolling, Jim Thompson, and Mickey Worthington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Luverne Methodist Church or to the Auburn Veterinary School, Large Animal Clinic. Condolences may be offered at www.leak-mc.com.
