

died peacefully in Huntsville, Alabama on March 26, 2022. He
was preceded in death by his parents Betty Tarter Jeffries and
Everett Jeffries, his loving wife of 69 years, Marcelyn
McKnight Jeffries, his daughter Kathryn McDaniel and two
infant sons. He is survived by his daughter Saundra Perry and
son Douglas Jeffries. He was known as Papaw to his
Grandchildren Kimberly Kunst (Keith), Ely Perry, Rebecca
Salinas (Jonathon) and Zachary Jeffries and his great
Grandchildren, Elizabeth Kunst, Meghan Kunst, Kate Kunst,
Osmani Perry, George Perry, Yamari Perry and Genevieve
Salinas.
Jeff and Marcie married on January 14 th , 1951. They traveled
the world in the Air Force and later traveled the country in
their campers. He loved traveling, camping and the outdoors.
Jeff was born in Mitchell, Indiana and enlisted in the Army Air
Corp on March 13, 1947. He served his country faithfully for
26 years. Jeff also served the State of Alabama in the
Department of Industrial Relations for 22 years prior to
retiring.
He was a long-time member of Morningview and Eastern Hills
Baptist Churches in Montgomery.
He was a 32 nd degree Mason and Past Master in both the
Andrew Jackson Lodge and the Keystone Lodge. He was an
honored member of the Alcazar Shrine where he attained his
33 rd degree and served as the Entertainment Chairman for 25
years.
Funeral Services for Earl E. Jeffries (Jeff) will be Saturday,
April 9 th at 2PM at Leak Memory Chapel with visitation 1
hour prior. Masonic graveside services with Military honors
will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetary.
